Brolly Media Shortlisted for Channel 4 animate! 2008
Brolly Media's short animation project "The Wedding" has been shortlisted for the Channel 4 and British Arts Council 17th annual animate! commission slate.
"The Wedding" is the emotional journey of two people who fall in and out of love, again and again, and will mix live action shot against green screen with video effects and traditional animation techniques. Elizabeth Padilla, Producer/Director says: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Brolly Media to break into the broadcast television market. It’s amazing to get shortlisted, but a bit scary too!"
This is the 17th annual slate of animate! tv commissions and the individual works will receive their premieres on Channel 4 in the autumn of 2008, and then enjoy a long and highly visible international profile.
Brolly Media produce video for web, podcasts, mobile phones and corporate communications and was set-up in February by four freelancers based in the Hastings Creative Media Centre. They met over coffee and discovered their shared passion for film and video was matched by their complementary skills in video, visual effects, animation, sound design and screenwriting.
Sarah Gardner, animator and graphic designer says "We'd been working in neighboring offices for months and just got chatting one day. Two weeks later we had set up Brolly Media and were shooting our first Podcast! 'The Wedding' is a project we're all excited to begin work on."
